BAND CLASSES

$200 FAIR SHARE for 1^st Semester

Thanks to the families who have already contributed $200 for the first semester Fair Share.  If you have not yet turned it in, please have your student bring the check (payable to UHS BAND AIDES) to Mr. Heddon during the band classes. Please make sure to put your student’s name on the memo line.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for Football Games and Field Tournament

There are still some empty spaces on the sign-up pages: www.mysignup.com/unibandgames for all the games and www.mysignup.com/unibandfieldshows for all the field tournaments.

If all the boxes are taken for the day that you would like to help, you are still welcome to join the plume team, help with the boosters table, or move the pit equipments.

REHEARSALS This Week

Monday 10/19: School is OFF

Band Photo, Thursday, 10/22

Our band photo is being taken on October 22 during the rehearsal time.  Forms to order band photos are available from Mr. Heddon. 

 

Irvine Invitational Field Tournament, Saturday, 10/24

Please eat lunch before rehearsal and bring your own water jug.

12:00 PM        Rehearsal begins at UNI

12:45 PM        Practice run

1:00 PM          Load and dress

2:15 PM          Leave Uni for Irvine Stadium (Chaperones)

2:45 PM          Unload and set up (Plumes and Equipment Helpers)

3:10 PM          Begin Warm up

(4:00PM Division 4a competition begins if parents are interested in watching our entire division)

4:25 PM          Leave warm up zone

4:35 PM          Arrive at gate for performance

4:45 PM          UHS MTR Performs

5:45 PM          1a - 4a Awards

Students can purchase food & drinks during evening time at Irvine Stadium.

Students may be picked up from tournament by guardians ONLY.  Mr. Heddon must see parents before students are allowed to leave.

9:00 PM          5a - 6a Awards

9:45 PM          Leave stadium for Uni

10:15 PM        Arrive at Uni

 

All volunteers should arrive at Irvine Stadium around 2:45pm. The truck and buses should be at the Irvine High School rear parking lot at Escolar street. We will put the plumes on after our buses arrive at the parking lot. All equipments will be moved to the warm up area or the stand-by area, then to the stadium gate. After performance, move them back to the parking lot. Right before the performance, there is also a time limit for the PIT to set all the instruments up, so we should help them move the instruments to the right position. You will receive instructions from the coach and students at the time. You will not need to pay for the tickets when entering the gate as the equipments crew, but if you would like to stay to watch other performances, then you will need to purchase the tickets. The volunteer sign-up page is ready, please go on to www.mysignup.com/unibandevent1027 and sign up as many jobs as you could.

This annual IUSD event is hosted by both Northwood and UNI Music departments. We need lots of parent volunteers and you will get to see all the high school marching band performances in one night.

There are some changes to this annual event. A one-hour Eat & Greet Time (5:00-6:00pm) is added to the schedule. The 4 Irvine high schools will have their own area (at Irvine High campus) to host a light dinner with their associated middle school students. We will need parents’ help to make sandwiches in advance. The boosters have the recipe and will pay for the needed ingredients. Saturday 11/7- Homecoming game (UNI High, 40^th anniversary celebration)

Friday 11/13 – Home game (Irvine Stadium, will honor all the seniors of MTR)

Saturday 11/21- Savanna Field Tournament (Glover Stadium in Anaheim)

Anyone registered in the band or pageantry classes could participate in these fundraisers.

Stadium Seat Cushion –The new lower price is $7 each; please come by the boosters table to check it out.
