Weekly Announcement Aug. 8

Hello Uni High Marching Trojan Regiment Families!

The field show is half written, the sections are practicing diligently, the band room is being remodeled, and the color guard has doubled. We are ready for a great season! You will usually receive updates weekly during the marching season (by email then reformulated for this website).

If you need to check out an instrument, the only time to do so is this Tuesday Aug. 9 12-2pm. Mr. Heddon will not be available any other time before Band Camp.

Important Camp Dates:

Monday, August 22: Band Camp starts. You will shortly receive an email about your registration status. If you have not submitted all forms and payment, PLEASE BRING THEM AT 7:40 AM MONDAY. Be ready to play before 8am each day; finish at 5. (90 minute lunch break most days). Remember to prepare for sun and heat: hat, sunscreen, no jeans, at least 1 gallon water, athletic shoes.

Monday, August 29: Students should receive their uniforms. Please do any needed length alterations before Trader Joes performance Sept. 1.

Thursday, September 1: Mandatory Parent Meeting 6:00 pm.

Friday, September 2: Beach Bonfire at Corona del Mar, 4pm to 10pm. All parents welcome, especially 5-7 pm.

Band Picture Day is Tuesday September 13. You can order individual photos.

Call for parent volunteers:

1. Truck drivers and Trailer drivers! Each home game and competition we need a parent to drive the truck, and one to drive the trailer. Let me know if you might be willing.

2. A little carpentry work: We are designing carts and shelves for transporting equipment. If you like to build with plywood and have the tools, please let me know!

3. Web maintenance: We can use some help updating and upgrading our website. If you have web skills you are willing to share, let me know.
