Message from Annie:

This will be the last email announcement from me.

Thank you so much for the flowers/gifts and all the kind words you gave me at the banquet. I will miss the time I have spent with the band. Please continue to support our boosters next year. This program need all the parents support in order for our students to have the best possible learning experience. Their high school life is more than English, math or science. Please help them to be a well round person and ready for their adulthood.
 
To seniors – It has been a great honor to get to know you. I am very proud of you being able to stay with the program all the way through your senior year. Wish you all the best for whatever path you choose to pursue. We will be removing your emails from the broadcast list by the end of school year. But you are always welcome to keep in touch through this email.
 
To juniors – Every one of you is the leader of the program next year! You are the role model for the under classmates and the strength of the program. Wish you all the best, and please do START your college application process early in the summer time!!
 
To sophomores & freshmen – It is never easy to be in the band or color guard for 4 years, but it has so many benefits for you as a whole person. Learn to manage your time well and you can do it!
 
Jazz I
Plan to stay after school tomorrow (Wednesday 6/16) for the retirement party. Mr. Heddon apologizes for not having more detail, but Mrs. Kingsbury was out of the country last week and was not able to solidify things.  We'll meet in the band room right after school to get dressed and set up.  Please wear your normal jazz band attire (black, black and tie).
 
MTR Future Freshmen Day – Thursday, 6/17
Future Freshmen Day is this Thursday 6/17 from 3:30 - 5:30.  All leadership MUST attend.  Everyone is welcome.  We will get to know our freshmen membership, have some time to meet in sections, and have root beer floats at the end of the day
 
Graduation Day – Tuesday, 6/22
Students who are in Wind Ensemble next year will play at UNI Graduation Commencement. Please wear black shirt and black slacks, and try to get out of 5th period a few minutes before the bell rings if you're not taking a final.  The bus is leaving at 12:15 and we must be packed and dressed by then
 
Band Classes - Summer Instrument Check Out
Any student would like to check out an instrument for summer practice at home, please come to the band room after school on Wednesday, 6/23. Please bring your next year’s Instrument Usage fee with you. The amount will be $100 for a whole year, or $60 to cover only the fall semester (you will need to pay another $60 if you continue using the instrument in Spring). Cash or check payable to UHS Band Aides. Please put your student name on the memo line of the check. If you turn in cash, please put the money in an envelope with your student name on the cover.
 
BEC Beach Bonfire – Wednesday, 6/23
We will celebrate the coming of summer at the annual bonfire at Corona del Mar on Wed. June 23 evening. Plan to spend one last evening with us before we say good bye to the seniors and become the UHS Music Department of 2010-2011. Parent chaperons are needed, please sign on at www.mysignup.com/unibeachparty if you are available to help.
